Vintage Scrap Fabric and Twine Banner
Vintage Camera Nightlight
Vintage Camera Nightlight
It’s Monday and that means it is time for our weekly Vintage DIY Roundup. First is a DIY trend I thought I would never give in to; the scrap fabric banner. These very sweet wall adornments are popping up all over Pinterest and I am sure there are hundreds available for sale right now on Esty. But for some reason, I am not a big fan of cute crafts. Live Laugh Rowe posted a DIY along with a gorgeous photo that changed my mind about this scrappy little trend.
I am as blind as an eyeless shrimp during the wee hours that is why night lights in our household are a MUST. Jack, the other half of Vintage and Flea, actually created a giant night light for me out of an old traffic light we keep mounted in the hall. It is triggered by a motion sensor. But for those interested in a much smaller option, Instructables posted one made from a vintage camera.

This DIY was inspired by a chair created by George Nakashima, one of the leading innovators of 20th century furniture design. All you need to create your own version is a vintage chair and twine. Just wrap and ta dah, a new chair!
